For the Fried Paneer:

  • Paneer (cubed): 250 grams
  • Cornflour: 2 tbsp
  • All-purpose flour (maida): 1 tbsp
  • Salt: to taste
  • Black pepper: 1/2 tsp
  • Water: as needed
  • Oil: for shallow or deep frying

For the Sauce:

  • Oil: 1 tbsp
  • Garlic (finely chopped): 1 tbsp
  • Green chilies (slit): 2
  • Onion (sliced or cubed): 1 medium
  • Capsicum/Bell peppers (sliced): 1 cup (mixed colors optional)
  • Soy sauce: 1 tbsp
  • Green chili sauce: 1 tbsp
  • Tomato ketchup: 1 tbsp
  • Vinegar: 1 tsp
  • Salt and pepper: to taste
  • Spring onions (for garnish): 2 tbsp

Making process

Step 1: Coat and Fry Paneer:

  1. Mix cornflour, maida, salt, pepper, and water to form a thick batter.
  2. Dip paneer cubes and fry until golden and crispy. Set aside.

Step 2: Prepare Sauce Base:

  1. Heat oil in a wok. Add chopped garlic and green chilies. Sauté for 30 seconds.
  2. Add onions and capsicum. Stir-fry on high heat for 2–3 minutes.

Step 3: Add Sauces:

  1. Add soy sauce, chili sauce, ketchup, and vinegar. Mix well.
  2. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.

Step 4: Combine Paneer:

  1. Add the fried paneer cubes and toss everything well for 1–2 minutes on high flame.

Step 5: Garnish and Serve:

  1. Garnish with chopped spring onions. Serve hot as an appetizer or with fried rice/noodles.
