For the Dough:

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • Water (as needed to knead)
  • Salt (a pinch, optional)

For the Stuffing:

  • 1 cup grated paneer (cottage cheese)
  • 1–2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste

For Cooking:

  • Ghee or oil (for roasting)

Making process

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

  1. In a mixing bowl, add wheat flour and a pinch of salt.
  2. Add water gradually and knead into a soft, pliable dough.
  3. Cover and rest the dough for 15–20 minutes.

Step 2: Make the Stuffing

  1. In a bowl, mix grated paneer, green chilies, coriander, cumin powder, garam masala, and salt.
  2. Combine well and set aside.

Step 3: Assemble and Roll

  1. Divide dough into equal portions and roll into small balls.
  2. Flatten one ball, place stuffing in the center, and seal the edges.
  3. Gently roll it out into a round paratha, being careful not to tear.

Step 4: Cook

  1. Heat a tawa (griddle) on medium heat.
  2. Place the rolled paratha on it and roast until golden spots appear.
  3. Flip and apply ghee or oil on both sides while cooking.
  4. Cook until both sides are golden and slightly crisp.

Step 5: Serve

  1. Serve hot with curd, pickle, or butter.
  2. Enjoy your delicious paneer paratha!
